Review- Youth by Kanibeat

Yesterday, Russian producer Kanibeat put out a ten track release on Cult Classic Records called Youth. I stumbled upon this release through surfing new releases on bandcamp and I have to say this was a pleasant surprise among other producers I have found who make essentially the same redundant stuff. What I really felt was that this release told a sort of story, the way everything flowed through, the use of the samples, painted this picture through ambiance that is rare to find in music these days. What makes it even more interesting is that the feeling of the release goes from a somber, sad sort of feeling to one of revival and happiness. This release takes elements of funk, RnB, jazz and classic hip hop sounds and overall makes for an incredibly enjoyable listening experience.
The production on this release is solid, everything sounds very fluid and well put together, with some really solid use of samples and effects. I'm particularly fond of the chime effects that are used on this release through out. These are tracks that you wouldn't necessarily find in a club, but maybe a restaurant, or a spa even. Overall, this is a solid first release from Kanibeat and earns itself an 8/10 and I hopefully will hear more from him in the coming future.
