REVIEW- Six-Fold God by The Crossed

Siberia, the cold Russian expanse in the east, not much comes out of this frozen land but when it does, it's usually very interesting. In this case, it's the band The Crossed with their full length record entitled Six Fold God (presumably a Doctor Who reference?) and I was wholeheartedly impressed by what I heard. Before we get into details however, this record is certainly for fans of A Night in Texas or Ion Dissonance, the latter especially.
For starters, the record opens up with some incredible swept leads that give a super eerie feeling. This whole record is full of them honestly, but also some really crazy guitar work that has "core" elements such as in the fourth track with a pretty djenty breakdown but also is very experimental in its own right. The bass tone is really very solid and audible through the whole record which is nice. The drums absolutely slay, with some really complex fills and patterns and make for a really fulfilling listening experience.
Vocally, this release is pretty good, though I can't personally understand the lyrics as they are in Russian. The vocalist changes his tone and technique up fluidly, and without much interruption in the tracks. Though I'm sure that based on the track titles, they have to do with themes of time and space and all that which are fairly thematic to this genre these days.
Overall, this record was enjoyable, though I noticed a little repetitive at some point, but for the most part formulaic and well put together, leading me to give this release from The Crossed a very solid 7/10
