Power Trip, Foreseen, Red Death, Detriment, and Carcosa at AMH 8/2/15

Last Sunday, Amityville Music Hall (AMH) hosted another great hardcore show. The show featured Power Trip, Foreseen, Red Death, Detriment, and Carcosa. The band Hard Stripes was supposed to be on this bill but drop the day of. Power Trip, Foreseen, and Red Death were on a short eight show tour. I’ve said so many times but AMH is the number #1 spot for Long Island Hardcore shows.
The opening band of the night was Carcosa. Carcosa is a local Long Island that could be put in the same category as Harms Way and Xibalba. The reason why is because they have such crushing metal riffs and their breakdowns are just pure death.  There was no moment from the crowd until the last song but overall a very good band. Carcosa is one of the heaviest on Long Island and they just formed this year. You better not sleep on this band at all.
The next band was another band from Long Island named Detriment. Detriment is a heavy hardcore band that has a lot of metal influences. Also this band was recently signed to BDHW which is Beatdown Hardware. Detriment started playing and the crowd ate it up. Long Island was going off for one their locals and great seeing people mosh for them. What is even better is that people know their material and sang along. Detriment were very heavy and probably the heaviest on Long Island. If you are not doing anything on the 10th see them opening up for Noisem and Homewrecker at the Acheron in Brooklyn, NY.
Red Death was next and they are from Washington D.C. Red Death took the stage and had a good reaction from the crowd. One song people would go off and then the next song people would chill expect for one person. I like their performance I just feel if I saw this band the day before in Brooklyn they would have gotten a better reaction. The case might have been that in NYC there are more Punks and Slam dancers that wouldn’t stop. The Long Island crowd was only waiting for the breakdown or the two step part. Red Death also covered the band Rampage which got a good reaction. Overall check out this band because they are really good.
Up next was Foreseen. Foreseen are from Helsinki, Finland and they are a Crossover/Thrash band. They are the best band from Finland because I love this band and they had a better crowd reaction than I expected. This band was something else and I loved the fact people were singing along and everything. There were a lot of people there checking them out and I truly enjoyed it. They probably are one of the best Thrash/Crossover band right now. Everybody should check this band and go see them.
The final band of the night was Power Trip. Power Trip are a crossover band that really loves hardcore but can’ resist their metal roots. Power Trip are from Texas and they sure do bring the fury because the started everyone was moshing. I never saw so many people moshing before. There was even a circle pit with a lot of people in it. Since AMH is such a small place it was amazing to see a big circle pit filled with a lot of people. Every song had non stop moshing, fans getting the mic, and stage dives. I’m so happy I finally saw this band. They were something else and they were a lot of fun. Power Trip is defiantly a band you have to see before you die seriously I can’t wait for Life and Death Tour.
