ALBUM REVIEW: ÒOR by CBMC

CBMC or Cyberbully Mom Club is an acoustic lo fi bedroom pop act from Philadelphia. This record is a followup to their other release, Footwear which came out earlier this year. I had first heard about this act via a friend who was playing them on a car ride and I almost immediately fell in love with them.
To start off, production quality is stellar even for a lo fi style record. The airy tone of the tracks give a really somber feel. The guitars have this really light tone to them also, which just adds to that feeling further. It's very simple musically, nothing too progressive or complex at all but it works beautifully for CBMC. Some of my favorite tracks on this release are Peach to a Peach and Song For Ari. Lyrically, the material on this record is somber and sad yet also lighthearted on some tracks. The vocals make it just that much better when combined melodically with the lyrics. CBMC is definitely for fans of such acts as Insignificant Other, Eskimeaux, TV Girl and Bellows and I would highly recommend giving this release a listen, giving it a solid

8/10
