Dropkick Murphys The Mahones, Blood and Whiskey, and Byan Mcpherson at The Paramount 3/4/15

Last night at the Dropkick Murphys played their second show of a two night stand at the paramount in Huntington, New York. Dropkick Murphys are a "celtic punk" band from Quincy, Masschusetts. This was my second time seeing this great band and they put on an amazing show.
The paramount is really cool venue and it's perfect for Long Island. The venue holds over a thousand people. The venue is great for Long Island who dont want to travel to the city to a see a show in a ballroom size venue (Terminal 5, Best Buy Theater, Etc.) This was my second time being at this venue and I totally recommend going to a show there. Probably the best staff I ever seen at a venue. If there is a cool show coming around go see a show at the paramount.
The first band of the night was Blood and Whiskey. Blood and Whiskey are a "celtic punk" band from Dublin, Ireland. This band was my favorite out of all the three opening acts. I'm not going to say they are a clone of Dropkick because of their genre but they had a strong agression in their material like Dropkick. The material was based upon the working man. Also some of their tunes were reggae based which is something unique. The band was an six piece band and had an pan flute which is really cool. The crowd reaction was good but not alot of people were there for them. If this band comes around near you must check them out.
The following band  was The Mahones. The Mahones were another "celtic punk" from Canada and also form before the Murphys came together. The Mahones you can say where the more legendary band of the night. I was digging it and people were going off. This band had a female vocalist who was playing the accordion. This band was very good and I totally respect the Murphys having these two bands play as an opening act. If this band comes around again you should check them out.
Up next which alot of people were really mad about was a solo acoustic guitar player Bryan Mcpherson. Everyone was mad because they wanted the Murphys. This man is from Boston and he played "folk-punk" songs that were okay. The crowd were cheering him but people wanted him to get off. His songs were on thr protest said but it seems like everybody didn't really care. The best part is when the Dropkick Murphys join him on his last song and people were happy he was getting off but I give the man credit because he was playing to alot of pissed off people and didn't let anyone give it to him. His material wasn't up to my liking but he was the first opening act people would have tolerated him.
After playing a song with Bryan Mcpherson, Dropkick took the stage and played "The Boys are back." What was great about this night was that they were playing alot of their old songs and rarities. One part of the night they had a dart board where they were going to play three of twenty songs. The songs were "Alcohol" , "Raining men", "TNT", "Pipebomb on Lansdowne", etc. I really enjoy a band that plays more than twenty songs and people were going off. Shows like this always makes me feel at home. Punk shows are the best and the second time seeing this band was great. Obviously when "The State of Massachusetts"  and "I'm Shipping up to Boston" played the place erputed. Comparing this time to the last time I saw them I prefer the last time because I was on the barricade and going off. This time was chilling a little further back. That change when they played "Kiss me I'm Shitfaced". During that song the ladies in the audience get a chance to go  onstage. All the women singing along to this song and the drunken crowd was going off. After that song is when the men rushed the stage which is what I exactly did. Two years in a row I got onstage and went off. They ended their set by playing "Taking care of Business" and "Blitzkrieg Bop". If you don't go see The Dropkick Murphys you are missing out a great show.
Dropkick Murphys 9.75/10
Bryan Mcpherson 7.5/10
The Mahones 8/10
Blood or Whiskey 8.5/10
The Paramount 10/10
Concert Overall 9/10
